520 ## $aMy graduation thesis namely “A study on syntactic and semantic features of English idioms denoting richness and poverty with reference to the Vietnamese equivalents” involves the analysis study of syntactic and semantic features of English idioms denoting richness and poverty with reference to the Vietnamese equivalents. In this study, the descriptive, contrastive, deductive, inductive and equivalent teaching and learning methods are used for finding out the similarities and differences between English idioms and their Vietnamese equivalents in terms of syntactic and semantic features. The findings from the data analysis show that English idioms and their Vietnamese equivalents have both similarities and differences in terms of syntactic and semantic features. Moreover, the thesis also gives suggestions for learning and teaching English idioms denoting richness and poverty with reference to the Vietnamese equivalents
