520 ## $aSpeaking proficiency is recognized as one of the core components in foreign language acquisition, encompassing the ability to convey information, thoughts, and emotions through spoken discourse. In the context of globalization, fluency in English has become an essential requirement for both academic advancement and professional development. However, many first-year students often face challenges in enhancing this skill due to curricula that place a stronger emphasis on theoretical knowledge and grammar instruction, while offering limited opportunities for communicative practice. To address this issue, the present study investigates the effectiveness of three extracurricular activities—topic-based discussions, English language gameshows, and summer camps—in fostering speaking competence. The research aims to evaluate the impact of these activities not only on improving students’ oral communication skills but also on enhancing their confidence in real life interactions. A combination of survey methods and data analysis will be employed to measure the influence of these extracurricular practices on students’ communicative performance.
