520 ## $aDrawing on Conceptual Metaphor Theory (Lakoff & Johnson, 1980), Image Schema Theory (Johnson, 1987), and Mental Spaces Theory (Fauconnier, 1994), this study systematically analyzes how love is metaphorically structured in 41 songs from Taylor Swift's Taylor's Version albums. The study focuses on how popular music represents love both linguistically and cognitively, and how these metaphorical formulations affect listeners' perceptions of romantic experience. Although metaphor in song lyrics has been studied in the past, previous research inadequately addressed the embodied cognitive underpinnings of these metaphors, specifically the functions of mental spaces and image schemas in meaning production. Therefore, by incorporating these cognitive linguistic viewpoints into the analysis of modern popular music, this study fills this gap. The study's objectives are to: determine the predominant conceptual metaphors of love in the chosen lyrics; investigate how these metaphors organize relational and emotional meanings; and elucidate how embodied and dynamic meaning-making processes function through mental spaces and image schemas.
