520 ## $aThis study conducts a Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) of Donald Trump’s Inauguration Eve speech on January 19, 2025, focusing on the linguistic strategies, underlying ideologies, and power relations embedded in his discourse. The thesis addresses a gap by analyzing his rhetoric in the post-2024 re-election period. Adopting a qualitative and quantitative methodology, the research applies Norman Fairclough’s three-dimensional framework combined with van Dijk’s ideological square. The analysis systematically examines key linguistic features, grammatical structures and rhetorical devices. The findings reveal a highly polarized discourse that naturalizes manipulative power relations while promoting nationalism and populism. Trump’s frequent use of inclusive “we,” future-oriented tenses, repetition, and historical references constructs a positive self-presentation of “America” and negative other presentation of opponents, reinforcing ideological hegemony and social division.
