520 ## $aVocabulary forms an essential part of primary students’ language learning; nevertheless, many young learners encounter challenges in acquiring it effectively. This study examines the effects of English songs on fifth graders’ vocabulary acquisition. An action research project was implemented with 20 students from Class 5A1 at Ngoc Thuy Primary School in Hanoi during the 2025 Summer English Club Program. Kurt Lewin’s (1946) four-stage action research model—planning, acting, observing, and reflecting—was applied over a five-week period. Both qualitative and quantitative approaches were used, drawing on three data collection instruments: pre- and post-tests, classroom observation, and questionnaires. The results show that English songs enhanced students’ vocabulary and fostered positive attitudes toward learning. In conclusion, English songs represent an effective instructional tool for improving vocabulary acquisition and informing primary English teaching practice.
